Chasing after pedophiles

 

There is an organization so to say over here that is named "Dumpen". They are chasing pedophiles.

 

What they do is that they are present on all kinds of social media and other platforms trying to find them and connect with them. They are contacting them, with fictional names and profiles, pretending to be young girls and boys.

 

When and if they get in contact with these men, they try to meet and if that meeting will be in place they show up, 3 -4 of them with cameras, and all footage together with chat logs etc will be published on their website. They will also contact the person's employer if they have one and the person's family.

This method has been questioned. Since this "Dumpen" is just a private organization, it’s illegal to publish names and footage of people on the net if they do not agree, and these people (pedophiles), even if this is certainly not the first time they are doing this, in these cases are not doing something wrong. You see they have been chatting with a fictive young person, not a real one.

In some cases, these men, have taken their own lifes.

 

Many men who are caught have been grooming young kids for years and some are teachers, lawyers, politicians, religious leaders etc.

 

These people are criminals, have a big issue and deserve penalty, but is it the right method?

Most Christian denominations teach that experiencing unwanted sexual attraction to children is not itself a sin, but acting on it is. The distinction mirrors Matthew 5:28 — sin involves intent and action, not just intrusive thoughts.

Still personally I think these people are "sick" and should be taken off the streets of cause.

 

Every person is seen as made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). That includes both the victim and the person struggling with pedophilia. The dignity of children is especially emphasized: Jesus’ words in Matthew 18:6 is often cited: “If anyone causes one of these little ones... to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck.”

 

The children must come first! 

 

Nearly all denominations now stress that protecting children is the highest immediate priority. This includes reporting abuse to civil authorities. Many churches have mandatory reporting policies for clergy/staff.

 

If you hear that a child might be in danger. Contact local law enforcement or child protective services immediately.

 

Be on alert. This is real, do background checks, and as I said take actions 

 

Pray for everyone involved, our faith in Christ, distinguishes between person and action. The person has worth; the act of child sexual abuse is categorically condemned as a grave sin and crime.

 

But as I said, the children first!

 

My questions are: How on earth is it possible that so many people have these inclinations, how can they year after year do these things unnoticed, and how do we stop it?????
